Darkwood Baroness's Masked Ball

Saturday December 7th, 2019
Salinas, California

Come  and celebrate with Their Excellencies, Carrek and Mercy, and the Barony of Darkwood, at the Baroness’s Masked Ball. This year the theme will be Pirates.

We will have a day of feasting and merriment, with a sideboard, cooked by Baron Anton Barsuk.

This year, instead of parade of mask competition, there will be Parade of Pirate Eye Patch and most creative shoulder animal. So decorate your Eye Patches and find yourself a parrot, monkey or other animal. Pirate games during the day.

There will also be a “Dirty Baker's  Dozen” largesse competition.

And what are Pirates known for “Fighting” Arrrrrr. Bring your best Bar Room Brawl weapon for heavy fighting. Rapier fighting where there will be a King or Queen of Pirates crown, along with Youth combat for a Prince or Princess of Pirates.

Please note, this is a DRY site.

The Bard of the Oak competition will also take place. Competitors will be asked to perform a piece from each of the following three categories:

1. Twisted sea shanty
2. Tell a “sea story” (and talk like a pirate)
3. Stolen treasure - pick a line from a period piece (from a hat) and work it into a new piece.

If you are interested in participating please contact the Bard of the Oak.
